Become a Volunteer

Green Ghana Volunteers welcomes people with a love of the outdoors and interest in the environment to take part as a volunteer.

Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds – students, professionals, international visitors

and retirees. You don't need any prior skills or experience. Our residential programs are open to volunteers aged 18 – 70. From time to time, we also offer projects suitable for younger volunteers with parental or school supervision.

Green Ghana Volunteers offers volunteer opportunities to suit your availability and interests.

You can volunteer:

Donating your time as a conservation and environmental volunteer with GGV is a wonderful way to experience the environmental wonders of the world, while playing an active role in creating, reclaiming and conserving these precious ecosystems. There is no need to have an environmental science background to volunteer on our projects and gain international conservation experience. You don’t even need to speak our local language. The conservation and environment program is open to all volunteers whether you are on a gap year, at university or wanting a career break.

Conservation with GGV- What Is It Like?

From working on our community food security projects, nursery farms, tree farms, reclaiming degraded lands, assisting rural farmers and communities with tree planting skills, a variety of conservation and environment-related volunteer opportunities are available. You will find that our conservation and environmental opportunities is the real hands-on project where a volunteer could individually measure the usefulness of their time.

VPWA, the parent organization of Green Ghana offers several other volunteer opportunities and there is flexibility and opportunity of combining additional volunteer opportunities to their conservation and environment experience, ultimately designing a trip to fit your volunteering interests.

Whatever skills and talents you have, volunteering on a conservation and environment project in Africa, offers a rewarding combination of the new, exciting, and life-changing, as well as the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally
